The crisis at the southern border is getting more intense by the day. In March, Border Patrol caught at least 150,000 people crossing illegally, 50,000 more than in February. Facilities are overcrowded and border patrol agents are overwhelmed.

But there’s a lot more to this story, like how exactly so many people are making it to the U.S.-Mexico border, and what happens to them next. Todd Bensman, senior national security fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies shares what he’s learned from his recent visits to the border.
